How To Apply

Acceptance into GenCyber is determined through an application process. In order to apply, please follow the following link to complete the application form. It will ask you to:

• Provide contact demographic information for the camper.
• Upload a short essay written by the camper describing their background for the workshop and explaining why participating in the workshop would be meaningful.
• Upload a letter of recommendation for the camper from a school teacher of their choice. The letter should contain the teacher's contact information.

Selection

We will begin reviewing applications on June 1st. After this, applications will be reviewed based on availability. Campers from groups historically underserved and underrepresented in STEM are especially encouraged to apply. Campers will be notified of their acceptance via email.

Admitted students who accept their spot in GenCyber will then be given a code to complete camp registration forms through the Camp Tiger registration page. (Note: health and immunization forms are required before the start of camp.)

• Is there any cost to attend?
  This event is funded entirely by the NSA and there is no cost to the students.
• My child has no computing experience, can they still participate?
  Yes! Materials are designed for participants without computing abilities.
• Do I get to keep the raspberry pi at the end of the event?
  Yes, at the end of the event all participants can keep the raspberry pi at no cost.
• Is lunch provided?
  Lunch is provided at an RIT dining hall.
• What are the camp hours?
  The camp runs from 9am to 4pm with drop off as early as 8:30am.
